Olive cotton award 2019 Entry

I entered my first ever photographic competition recently, the prestigious Olive Cotton Award for portraiture. My entry ‘Evolved’ was an image of my oldest son Riley playing iPad, I tried to create something reminiscent of man’s discovery of fire, while paying tribute to the the way human communication has also evolved away from traditional methods to being from behind a screen.

Out of 432 Entries from across Australia I was fortunate enough to be one of 79 entries shortlisted and to be exhibited at the Tweed regional Gallery. I am so humbled to be a part of an exhibition with such accomplished photographers with the quality of entries being incredible. The winner was most deserved and was an incredibly powerful Lenticular image by Belinda Mason named ‘Taken’.

Now if only I had pulled out my jacket Collar for the photo artists photo.

Please check out the link below to view the competition, the Exhibition runs until the 22nd of September 2019.
